Slimline 130 litre grit bin combining useful storage capacity with a comparatively narrow 500 mm depth. The integrated forklift recess provides a practical handling option when the container needs to be moved.
This 130 litre Slimline Grit Bin provides practical storage for grit or de-icing salt where available space needs careful consideration. Measuring H 750 × W 850 × D 500 mm, it combines a useful capacity with a forklift recess that assists handling and repositioning.
Where You Can Position
Choose a firm, level position reasonably close to the surfaces where grit or de-icing salt will be required. The 500 mm depth can be useful where available space is restricted, but allow for the full 850 mm width and sufficient working room around the bin. Keep entrances, pedestrian routes and vehicle movements unobstructed, and consider future forklift access if the handling recess will be used.
What You Can Expect After Siting
The slimline format gives you 130 litres of dedicated storage without the greater depth associated with some larger grit bins. Correct positioning is especially useful where available floor space and future handling access both need to be considered.
✅ Space-conscious storage: the 500 mm depth can make the bin easier to accommodate where storage space is limited.
✅ Useful local capacity: 130 litres provides a practical supply point for grit or de-icing salt close to areas where it may be required.
✅ Planned handling: the forklift recess provides an alternative way to handle or reposition the container when suitable equipment is available.

Size and Handling
Plan around the slimline footprint
✅ Allow for the full 850 mm width despite the relatively shallow 500 mm depth.
✅ Leave enough surrounding space to reach and use the bin comfortably.
❌ Do not position it where the footprint reduces a pedestrian route or blocks an entrance.

Keep handling access available
✅ Consider the direction from which forklift equipment would need to approach the recess.
✅ Keep the intended handling area clear if the bin may need repositioning later.
❌ Do not block the forklift recess with stored stock, barriers or other equipment.

Consider the contents before moving
✅ Assess the amount of grit or salt inside before deciding how the bin should be handled.
❌ Do not assume a filled 130 litre container will be straightforward to move manually.
❌ Do not attempt forklift handling without suitable equipment and normal site handling controls.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose the 130 Litre Slimline Grit Bin? It combines a useful 130 litre capacity with a 500 mm depth, making it worth considering where storage space is more restricted than with wider-footprint containers. How large is the bin? Its overall dimensions are H 750 × W 850 × D 500 mm, so check the full width as well as the slimline depth before selecting the position.
What is the grit bin made from? The confirmed material is polyethylene and the bin is supplied in yellow.
What is the forklift recess used for? It provides a handling point for compatible forklift equipment, which can assist with moving or repositioning the container when appropriate.
Should forklift access be considered when positioning the bin? Yes, if you expect to use the recess. Leave sufficient approach and working space rather than positioning the bin where lifting equipment cannot reach it safely.

If manoeuvrability matters more than extra capacity, compare the 75 litre mobile grit bin for a smaller movable option.
For a slightly smaller conventional storage capacity, the 100 litre grit and salt bin is another practical comparison.
Where you need significantly more storage plus dedicated handling features, the 220 litre grit bin adds forklift recesses and a measurement gauge.
You can compare the wider choice of capacities in the grit and salt bins range if the slimline format is not your only priority.
